| Michi Retreat > About Michi Retreat |

The fate of the founder was cast in his infancy with the Japanese
invasion of Manchuria in 1931. The Diaspora began in a frontier
town near the Manchurian - Russian border. For seven decades
he journeyed far and wide around the world.
As luck would have it, ten years ago he discovered a tract of
land next to an unspoiled village, on the outskirts of Ubud,
a center of Bali's traditional arts and crafts. His heart was
deeply touched. To him, this was the "Garden and Eden"
where he could cease his "wandering" existence and
fulfill his long - cherished dream : establishing a modest center
of cultural conservation and the development of women and children
from the village.
He named this newly found heaven MICHI, the Taoist term denoting
journey, and the Way : one's inner spiritual path toward the
Great integrity. |
